Heading north, Director Natasha Edwards and Education Coordinator Jonathan Purdy met the students of Cloncurry State School on a recent visit as part of the Bush to Beach Program. Cloncurry, about 2 hours from Mt Isa, is such a contrast to Currumbin and the opportunity to meet with the children, parents and teachers was a wonderful occasion to come together as a prelude to their visit to Swell Sculpture Festival. The children, eager to hear about the exhibition, the beach and keen to learn of the bee workshops they will be participating in, welcomed Natasha and Jonathan with their smiling faces and with lots of questions about the exhibition and a few on crocodiles!
As the children prepare to travel from Cloncurry to visit the Swell Sculpture Festival next week, Natasha, Jonathan and the team wish them all the best for their journey and look forward to sharing the Swell experience with them.
